Le iris bar­ba­te al­te (si­gla TB) han­no ste­li che van­no dai 70 cm in su. So­no mol­to ra­mi­fi­ca­te e pre­sen­ta­no sva­ria­ti boc­cio­li. Ogni ste­lo crea una com­po­si­zio­ne a sé stan­te nel giar­di­no o in va­so. Ol­tre ad una va­sta gam­ma di co­lo­ri e di­se­gni, le iris bar­ba­te al­te pre­sen­ta­no al­tre qua­li­tà (qua­li on­du­la­zio­ni e “piz­zi”) mol­to più fre­quen­te­men­te di quan­to fac­cia­no le al­tre clas­si.
